Strength, Hope and Healing Grief Support Group

Have you experienced loss? Are you stuck in your grief?

Many times, when we've experienced a loss, we feel alone, like no one in the world understands the pain we're feeling, or the fear of what's ahead for us. And indeed, the path of grieving is one that is often misunderstood, by our family, friends, and loved ones.

Many of the grief support groups that are available are connected to churches, which means that often, they’re not a good fit for someone who isn’t very religious. This is particularly a problem for people who’ve experienced religious trauma.

While there are scheduled activities, speakers, and homework connected to each group, the format is open, and there is time for everyone to share, to support each other, and even to experience joy together. Our purpose is to find strength in our struggle, and to learn how to breathe again, together. While this group runs on a cycle, members can start whenever they're ready.

There are 10 groups per cycle, and it’s recommended that participants attend all 10 groups to complete the work. It’s especially important for group cohesion and trust within the group. Participants will be required to sign a nondisclosure agreement, to protect the confidentiality of everyone in the group.

This group is also available as part of a package, which includes individual sessions.

In addition, this group may be covered by your health insurance.

Chronic Pain Support Group

Ouch! Dealing with chronic pain and illness is a special level of hell, that most people don’t understand. The world outside of illness expects that someday, you’ll be “better”, doesn’t understand the unique connection between your health and your mental health, and can’t figure out how you can be so tired, depressed, and miserable when you’re sick. In this group, we’ll focus on healing mentally, physically, and spiritually. We’ll begin with assessment of your needs, and together we’ll work on learning new ways to cope with chronic illness, so that you can continue to live the best life possible in spite of illness.

While there are scheduled activities, speakers, and homework connected to each group, the format is open, and there is time for everyone to share, to support each other, and even to experience joy together. Our purpose is to find strength in our struggle, and to learn how to breathe again, together. This group runs on a cycle, and members must start at the beginning of the cycle.
